Are they really better for the environment ?

Electric vehicles do not emit harmful emissions like Co2, so they certainly help offset your carbon footprint towards a more sustainable existence. But it’s not a cure all, after all making electricity still generates Co2, though it is minimal from renewable sources such as wind or solar.
